All About Chevrolet Volt
The Chevrolet Volt, is expected to be start production November 10th 2009. The car wil be General Motors first plug in hybrid vehicle. The car has been rumoured to be being developed since early 2004.
The vehicle works different than a Toyota Prius, in that the electric motor will always drive the car. When the battereis run low however, a gas generator, will charge the batteries, to cotinue use of the electric motor. The gas motor itself will not drive the wheels, only charge / create electricity.
The chevy volt is expected to get only about 40 miles, before its generator needs to kick in. GM claims that only 75% of emricans would need more than this range on a daily basis.
